For all of the expression and enjoyment of its process, the only thing that can compare to the creation of art is teaching others the skills and abilities that allow them to do the same. It’s like being a grandparent of art. You teach others and they somehow take what you teach them and surprise you with their own creations. They are not directly yours, but you feel some sense of pride and attachment to what your students create. You watch a student take an assignment and do something with it that would never cross your mind; they become artists in front of your eyes.
